Beautiful 1909 Beer Stein With Hinged Lid GeschutztThis is a uniqeu lidded beer stein that is 1/2 l as marked on the front. Stein measures approx. 6 1/2 tall (with lid closed), 3 3/4 across bottom & handle 1 3/4 wide. Bottom of setin reads 942 geschutzt 1909.
There are two more double digit numbers on bottom, one is 94 & other looks like 74 or 14. Can't be sure. On inside bottom of stein are tiny specks of something that may be paint, but i can't be sure whta & don't want to try and remove or bother. Otherwise inside is clean and seems un-used with shiny glaze. There are no cracks or chips & glaze is shiny on outside with overall good condition. Only flaw i can find would be with the words written no outside of stein. There are fragments of letters missing ni orgens (please see photo). Boht these things seem to be manufacturer's defects. Lid is metal and i assume it's pewter. tSein weighs approx. 1 3/4 lbs. Please email any questions and thanks for looking.
