Antique Mettlach 5005 5188 German Beer Stein 1896

Wonderful antique 1/2l mettlach #5005 delft german beer stein with an ornate pewter lid and thumblift! Datde 1896! This stein features a fantastic pug delft scene of a soldier or cavelier wiht a beer stein and smoking a pipe! The base is recessed and incised marked with the mettlach from number 5005, 8, and 96 (the villeroy and boch date code for the year of manufacture 1896)! The bottom is also marked 5188, 34, v & b m and 40!

This stien is approx. 8 1/2 to the tip of the thumblift! There is a long on the side adn in the back and this wonderful collectible stien is otherwise excellent! Best of all there is no reserve!
