11 German Lidded Beer Stein Stoneware Tavern AntiqueYou are looking at an antique stoneware german lidded beer stein with a tavern scene on one side and a message on the other side. The saying translates to approximately if you love wine women and song, you will live happy and long. The stoneware stein is in great condiiton with excellent detail. The only mark is the number 39 on the bottom. There is an area where the handle meets the stein that ti looks like the glaze may have separated in firing as shown in the last photo, the mark seems to be in the glaze and not a crack in the stoneware. hTe inside is clean with a small amount of crazing. The stein is heavy at 3 3/4 pounds unboxed and stands 11 inches tall to the top of the lid. Please email any questions. |
